  1. Great episode! I started writing out Romans ch. 8 already! I have not been memorizing for awhile now, so i am going to definitely get back into that. Thank you! I am totally falling in love with your podcast. I cannot wait for next week! An idea might be guarding your mind. How to do that. And also, how to stay motivated in Gods word, even when you don’t feel like it. Thanks guys! Have a terrific week! <3

    1. Emma, your encouragement is so kind, oh my goodness! Thank you! And you’re writing out Romans 8 now – wahoo! Way to go. 🙂 And great episode ideas. I’m going to write them down right now.

  2. Me, my sister, and my Momma, just got done listening while we ate lunch! You had us laughing out loud several times 😀
I have experienced the many blessings of scripture memorization myself, but I’ve gotten lackadaisical in my memorization lately. So, thank you for encouraging me to pick it up again!
Y’all do such an awesome job with this podcast. Thank you so much!
Thanks for enduring the cold for me and I’m not going no where!! 😉

    1. Haven, your comments unfailingly make me so happy. We love that you and your family enjoy the podcast, you loyal listeners, you. And I’m glad the episode was an encouragement for you! 😀

  3. Awesome podcast! Thanks for talking about this subject – I’m passionate about memorization (as you know 😉 ), and I love hearing about it. You mentioned memorization apps; have you ever heard of ScriptureTyper? It’s an amazing app that I use for review (the Pro version is totally worth it).
I haven’t had as much time as I’d like for listening to things lately, but I really enjoy your podcast. Keep it up! =) A topic I’d love to hear you talk about is overcoming pride; and maybe something about doing *everything* for God’s glory. Thanks again!

    1. Katherine, I’m so glad you listened to this episode! This one was definitely for you. 🙂 Dad said he has heard of ScriptureTyper, though I hadn’t. I’ve got to go look it up now. Thanks for the reco! And great episode suggestions. Thank you.

    2. ScriptureTyper is fantastic!! It really helps me to memorize and keep up on my reviewing. I prefer to use it on the computer, but the app on the phone is great for reviewing when out and about and having to sit and wait somewhere. Redeeming the time!

  4. Late comment, but I only listened to the episode on the way to church yesterday. Very helpful and funny as usual. Your guy’s podcasts always encourage me to get into God’s Word, so thank you for that!

On the note of Scripture memory, there actually is an app that I found (through Tim Challies I believe) called “Scripture Typer”. I have the free version and it seems to have everything you would need to memorize small or large portions of Scripture. It has three steps: first, you type it out (just the first letter of each word), second, you memorize it (where certain words are missing and you type in the first letter of each word), and third, you “mastor” it (where every word is invisible and you type in the first letter of each word). I’ve found it very helpful, to the point where I’ve memorized two verse since yesterday.

I don’t have any ideas for topics now, but I will think about it and see if I can come up with any.

    1. Seth, so glad you listened to the episode and enjoyed it. And Katherine Forster just commented and let me know about ScriptureTyper. I have to go look it up now! Excellent suggestion.

  5. Earlier today, I had some free time, so I decided to listen to a bit of one of your podcasts. Now I’m hooked! I’m sitting here right now, doing Geometry and listening to the podcasts. This one is my third, and they have all been so encouraging, helpful, and even funny. Thanks so much!

Scripture memory is my passion, so I was especially excited to see this podcast. I love the Verses Project! I also use Bible. Is (or Faith Comes By Hearing). I play it and try to recite along with it; and when I think I’ve learned it, I turn off the audio and try to recite it. It’s a very easy way to learn the verses, and I enjoy it very much.

In case you’re wondering where this stranger comes from, I’m a Bible Bee contestant, so I know some people who write for the Reb. I’m actually thinking about/working on writing an article…we’ll see! I’m sixteen years old, and I live in the midsouth of the US. Oh, and I’m also Reformed Baptist :).

Sorry, this was kinda long. I’m just excited. This is what you get when you mix late-night Geometry, caffeine, and great podcasts!

  6. Hey Jaquelle and Sean!
Just listened to this episode (I know, I’m super behind :P), and it was so good! I’ve done a lot of memorization in the past (Philippians, James, Ephesians, Romans, and halfway with Colossians), but I’ve really slacked off in the past year. This was really helpful in reminding me why I need to get back into it. Thank you so much for the suggestions!
I love your podcast–y’all always crack me up :). Thanks for doing this!!
