  1. Great episode!! BTW, nobody uses facebook šŸ˜‰
    Here’s what I’m reading:
Writing Tools by Roy Peter Clark
Surprised by Joy by C.S. Lewis
North! or be Eaten by Andrew Peterson
The Holiness of God by R.C. Sproul
The Christian Imagination by Leland Ryken
True Identity by John C Majors (I just got this in the mail without asking for it from one of my book review programs!!)
    Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem

Yeah, I definitely don’t read one book at a time šŸ˜‰

    1. There are so many good books on here, Zach! I love that this is what you’re reading right now. I’ve been meaning to read ‘Surprised by Joy’ for quite some time now. I’ll really have to get on that. And basically any writing book by Roy Peter Clark is fantastic. I read ‘Writing Tools’ last year. ?

  2. As of now Iā€™m in the midst of a few books.

First off Iā€™m reading ā€œThe King James Only Controversyā€ by James White.
Iā€™m also re-reading though ā€œHolinessā€ by J.C. Ryle in preparation for T4G. That book is so good! On the fiction side of things, I’ve been getting into Star Wars. I want to be prepared for ā€œThe Last Jediā€ so Iā€™ve been reading some of the backstories to the characters. ? So I just finished ā€œDarth Plagueisā€ which was very intriguing. And now Iā€™m starting ā€œKenobiā€, which looks pretty good so far.

I also have a few books in limbo on the bookshelf which I want to finish soon: ā€œFor the Gloryā€ by Duncan Hamilton, ā€œThe Vanishing American Adultā€ by Ben Sasse, ā€œComfort for Christiansā€ by A.W. Pink, and ā€œDesiring Godā€ by John Piper. All these Iā€™ve started reading, some are close to being finished, and some are just started. But I easily get distracted with other books haha.

So a few of the books Iā€™m into now.

    1. Woah, you’ve got a lot of good ones on the go. I really want to read Ben Sasse’s new book after TGC gave a great review of it. I understand about getting distracted by other books (I’m guilty!). Oh, and ‘Holiness’ is one of my all-time favorites — so happy you’re reading that again!

  3. This was a fun episode! I have to admit, I donā€™t read a whole lot of theology. Iā€™m more into fiction and history. Do you have any recommendations on must-read theology books for someone who hasnā€™t read a lot of it?

    1. Zach’s suggestion is a great one. I have not looked at that list in a while, though I remember thinking it was a good place to start. A few other suggestions you might consider, which I am not sure if they are on the reb list or not, are the three part series by Greg Gilbert (What is the Gospel, Why Trust the Bible, and Who is Jesus) and two books by Jerry Bridges (Trusting God and Pursuit of Holiness).

  4. Great episode guys! I’m a very nosy person and I love reading, so naturally I LOVE hearing what other people are reading! šŸ˜€ I’ll definitely be checking into some of the books you’ve recommended. As for what I’m reading? Well l’ve got several books on the go:
    ‘Heaven’ by Randy Alcorn
‘The Unquenchable Flame’ by Mike Reeves
‘The Canterbury Tales’ by Geoffrey Chaucer
    ‘What If?’ by Randall Munroe
Surprisingly I don’t really have anything ‘fiction-for-pleasure-y’ on the go right now. I’m a huge fiction reader, so it’s rather abnormal for me! But I’m sure I’ll pick something up soon, because unlike Mr Sean, I love fiction! šŸ˜›

  5. If you liked The Nightingale, you should check out All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. It begins with the bombing of Paris as well. My granny gave it to me as a gift and it has become one of my favorite books.

You should think about doing a “What We’re Reading Episode” every month!
